It was early June 2006 when I received the "call" to massage therapy. It was just after the birth of my niece in which I had the privilege of assisting my sister. Drawing on instinct and intuition to keep my sister calm and focused during the process, one of the delivery room nurses took note and the next day she asked if I was massage therapist. As fate would have it, not 12 hours prior, during a quiet intimate moment with mom and new baby, my nurturing instincts called to me. After witnessing the physicality of giving birth I wanted to help ease her physical discomfort, so I began lightly stretching and gently rubbing her legs to which she exclaimed "you should think about going into massage therapy". My ah ha moment. Three months later I was enrolled in massage therapy school. I graduated from the Downeast school of massage in July 2007 where I trained in Swedish massage with a concentration in Sports massage. I have certifications in Orthopedic Massage and Core Myofascial Therapy. My practice focuses on individuals suffering from stress, chronic pain, and repetitive strain injuries.
It is my hope and desire to make a difference in my clients well being. Whether you need a relaxing massage for a little stress relief or relieve your aches and pains with deep tissue massage. Contact me today to schedule your massage!
